Thank you to everyone who has reached out to me over these many months of my extended hiatus. You are so appreciated. I know it has been a long time. The “pause” that began with my father’s sudden passing has extended into a much longer break than I anticipated.
Only once before was pain so great in my life that I could not bring myself to create. In that case too, it was a death - albeit of a different kind. Sewing has always been so very meditative for me, but when faced with an overwhelming pain I found that I could not keep the dark thoughts away.
Thankfully, there is light. My dear sons have grown and remind me of all that is beautiful and pure. My partner in life, Ashton, is ever patient and inspiring. His creativity knows no bounds, and I am eternally grateful for the reminder that no matter what tragedy befalls us, love and faith endure.I don’t know when I will return to sewing and designing - perhaps soon. For now, I am honored to share in the creativity of those close to me. Here is the latest result of that creativity, a collaboration between my husband Ashton Nyte of The Awakening and his dear friend Michael Ciravolo of Beauty in Chaos, with their track aptly titled, “Storm.”
